Drone-Based LiDAR Services

High-Accuracy Terrain Data. Faster. Safer. Smarter.

Unlock the power of airborne LiDAR with our advanced drone-based mapping solutions. Using the DJI Zenmuse L1 sensor, we deliver accurate 3D topographic data for engineering, construction, land development, and environmental analysis—without boots on the ground or delays in the field.

Why Choose Drone-Based LiDAR?

LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) uses laser pulses to capture millions of precise elevation points per second. When mounted to a drone, it dramatically reduces survey time and safely collects data in hard-to-reach or vegetated areas. It’s the smart choice for projects that demand fast, repeatable, and highly detailed elevation models.

What We Deliver

Every LiDAR project is tailored to your needs, but typical deliverables include:

  • Raw and Classified Point Clouds (LAS/LAZ)
Processed with precision to distinguish ground, vegetation, and built features.
  • Digital Terrain Models (DTM) & Digital Surface Models (DSM)
Clean, grid-based elevation products ready for design or analysis.
  • Breaklines and Contours
Essential linework extracted and delivered in CAD-ready formats like DXF or DWG.
  • Final Survey Grid of Points
Compatible with platforms such as Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Colorized Point Cloud & Orthophoto Overlay
Merge LiDAR precision with photogrammetric context for a complete picture of the site.

Powered by the DJI L1 Sensor

The DJI Zenmuse L1 combines a Livox LiDAR module, high-accuracy IMU, and a 1-inch CMOS RGB camera, capturing:

  • Up to 240,000 points per second
  • 3 Returns per pulse for dense vegetation penetration
  • RGB-colorized point clouds
  • GNSS/IMU-driven accuracy of ±5 cm vertical / ±10 cm horizontal

Are there better LiDAR platforms available?  Absolutely.  However, we have compared the deliverables from the DJI L1 to sensors costing well over $125,000, and what we have found is that the sensor is only part of the equation.  Larger organizations that provide LiDAR services have different teams to fly the site, process the results, and certify the final deliverables.  Each team assumes the upstream team gathered and processed the best possible outcome.  Gathering LiDAR is an art.  It is an art that we have studied for over two years.  Based on the desire to produce the best possible outcomes, we have developed a workflow where the person who scouts the area to determine how to adjust the flight and sensor parameters also processes the results and places the deliverables into CAD for certification and delivery.  Paired with our skilled LiDAR specialists and vetted workflows, this platform ensures high-quality data you can trust, without the price tag required to support a platform that costs as much as a small house.  After all, what good is the best equipment if the weakest link is the processing workflow?

Use Cases

Our drone LiDAR services are ideal for:

  • Residential and commercial land development
  • Cut/fill volume analysis and site balancing
  • Preliminary grading and drainage planning
  • Utility corridor mapping
  • Forest canopy penetration for ground-level surveys
  • As-built verification and final site certification

Deliverables You Can Build On

Whether you’re an engineering firm needing Civil 3D deliverables or a land developer planning mass grading, we deliver fully processed data you can integrate immediately—saving you time, reducing risk, and keeping projects on track.

Your Local Geospatial Partner

While other companies fly in from across the country, we’re based right here in the Southeast. We understand the unique soils, vegetation, weather, and grading challenges of this region. That local insight translates into better data, faster response times, and true collaboration.
